13 of 365 Vintage

13th January 2009

A shot of a reproduction 1930's monopoly game. Monopoly is my favourite board game. I remember playing for hours as a child with my younger sister. I had to watch her as she had a reputation for cheating!!

12 of 365 By candle light

12th January 2009

I almost forgot to take a picture today! I've been so busy.

Clutching at straws with this one, it's not very original!! I would have liked to have captured more of the detail in the flame, more practice needed!

11 of 365 Water drops

11th January 2009

I've seen these shots all over Flickr and love the way the water drops just sit on the CD. I decided to try my own and was surprised how easy it was!

I placed the CD in front of my PC monitor displaying some of my pictures. I tried to capture the reflection of the screen in the drops. They are not as clear as I would have liked but I think it works just the same.

10 of 365 I must use manual settings!

10th January 2009

When I decided to start my Project 365 one of my goals was to improve my photography. I am guilty of using the auto settings to be on the safe side. I took this photo while trying out a few manual settings on my bridge camera.

9 of 365 Indulgence

9th January 2009

Just about to start on my last box of chocolates from Christmas! I received lots of lovely Christmas gifts from the children at work and a few of these were chocolates. I thought these ones looked particularly good and ideal for my shot of the day.

8th January 2009

A close up shot of my favourite handbag. It was a Christmas gift from my very generous and lovely mother in law.

I just love the green of the faux snake skin and the glisten of the gold chain strap and buckles.

7 of 365 Purdi

7th January 2009

I don't usually post pictures of my pets but this shot made me laugh. This is my usually cute kitten Purdi. I snapped her in the middle of a yawn, such a hard life!!

6 of 365 In the kitchen

6th January 2009

A close up shot of infused oils. A very mundane subject I was trying to make look more interesting. Not sure if I succeeded but it does look pretty!

5 of 365 Frozen berries

5th January 2009

This photo was taken in my garden at about 10am. There had been some snow in the morning which had frozen over as it was so cold. The ice was just starting to melt.

Bring on the summer, I hate the cold weather!

4 of 365 Trying something new

4th January 2009

I decided to try out some of my camera's manual settings today. I usually just rely on auto settings so this is really out of my comfort zone. I must read more and learn how to use my camera to it's full potential. Project 365 will certainly give me the opportunity to practice.

The design of a crowned lion and number 10 has been used on ten pence pieces since 1968 with either NEW PENCE (1968 - 1981) or TEN PENCE (1982 - 2008) above the lion.

In August 2005 the Royal Mint launched a competition to find new reverse designs for all coins apart from the £2 coin. The winning designs by Matthew Dent were introduced gradually in 2008. The coins form a shield when placed together. I have yet to find the full set!

3 of 365 Fold!!

3rd January 2009

The boys are playing poker tonight and it's Gavin's turn to host it! Poker, beer and pizza, not really my idea of fun. I think I'll leave them to it, got loads of work to catch up on before I go back on Monday.
